Saying Goodbye

Hands down our favorite part of this past week was when we got to visit a few minority villages in the mountains. The scenery here is so incredibly beautiful and being able to hike in it was an unforgettable experience. On this same trip, one of our co-workers from the café took us to her house as well.

We had our last English corner and story time. Both ended really well which we were extremely thankful for. We got to spend two different evenings with two women we met at our English corner. One took us to walk through a village close to her house. We got to encourage her in her life. The other friend we were able to spend this past week took us to get some local food. …we can now add raw squid to the list of interesting things we have eaten this summer. It was a good way to say goodbye to these wonderful women.

An American group held a concert at the café and it attracted quite a few people. The guys that sang are so incredibly talented and it was cool to see how they were able to use their talents to serve the café as well as the people here.

At the café we have been working on translating recipes, implementing systems for those new dishes and tying up loose ends before we leave. We have felt so welcomed and loved by all of the staff and it is going to be hard to say goodbye.
